Dental Assisting Instructor (Full-Time-12-Months)

Martin Community College is seeking a full-time Dental Assisting instructor starting immediately. Responsibilities include preparing course materials and teaching classes (traditional and online), managing dental labs, and supervising clinical instruction. Required qualifications include Dental Assistant Certification, a four-year degree or currently enrolled in a four-year program of study in a regionally credited college/university, and work experience in a dentist's office. Teaching experience is preferred.

Information Technology Support Technician II

Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance that includes, but not limited to, installing, maintaining, analyzing, and repairing desktops, servers, and software, computer peripherals; troubleshooting hardware and software related problems; updating and maintaining content, programming, and security for web-based resources, and running cable as necessary. A flexible work schedule may be required at times to respond to needs of the institution and and staff.

Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Information Technology or related area; bachelor's degree preferred, and three years of experience in computer system and software installation. Experience must include maintenance and operation; information technology and application support; web programming, security and server support; and experience with Windows desktop and/or server related operating systems; HTML, CSS, and PHP. Physical requirements include ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb ladders, kneel, and bend.

Library Assistant, 12 months, part-time

Part-time (20 hours/week), Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 9:00pm, but hours may vary. Available immediately. Required qualifications include a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, capability to use Microsoft Office and other computer software, strong communication skills, detail oriented, aptitude to be outgoing and interact well with library patrons, a focus on customer service. Experience in library services preferred, including interlibrary loan, managing correspondence, Sirsi Dynix Symphony management system and OCLC. Community college familiarity strongly desired. Responsibilities include performing library tasks with limited supervision, capacity to work independently as well as part of a team, trouble shooting technology issues, setting up audio visual equipment, staffing the public service desk, processing and shelving books according to current classification scheme, assisting library patrons with database and catalog research, and other duties as necessary.

Responsibilities include providing secretarial and administrative support; managing various types of schedules; preparing correspondence, reports, initiating and maintaining files and records; and preparing purchase and travel requisitions/reimbursements. Biology Adjunct Instructor

Payroll Officer

Payroll responsibilities include verification of payroll data, computation of wages and deductions, process payroll for monthly and part-time employees; prepare and filing of federal, state, and local government reports, including Federal and State Tax Reports; reconcile W-2 forms; prepare, review and distribute W-2 to employees; process and transmit to state and federal agencies.

Qualifications include five years of increasingly responsible experience in payroll or related field. Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in payroll, accounting, finance or related field. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for three years of experience.

Student Success Specialist: 24 Month Grant Funded Position

Requires Bachelor's degree in counseling or related area; two years counseling experience at the high school and/or community college level; excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and facilitation skills; experience with computers, software, and technology related to counseling, mentoring and career assessment.

Desire experience providing services to multi-ethnic students; establishing an effective/affective rapport with students and maintaining effective linkages with HS/college divisions and programs.

Responsibilites include, but not limited to providing personal, career and academic counseling to MCC's student population; working with instructional faculty and staff to provide an effective system of early intervention in order to improve student success, retention and completion.

Research Assistant: 24 Month Part-time Grant Funded Position

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to collect, analyze and summarize data. Experience in the use of Datatel, SAS, Blackboard and online surveying is desired, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to create queries.

Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and reporting data regarding student success initiatives, including but not limited to, Completion by Design and Achieving the Dream, developing, coordinating, and implementing institutional evaluations, assisting with the program and administrative assessment process, and other projects as directed.

Dean of Administration Services

The Dean is the Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officer and is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the activities and operations of college institutional and administrative functions including finance and accounting, facilities maintenance and operations, personnel, business services, café, bookstore, management information, and computer services. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business or related field and substantial experience in financial and administrative services including three years experience in administration or management. Desired qualifications include Master’s degree, CPA, and successful experience in community college financial and administrative services. Coordinator, BLET Program and Fire Classes

Bachelor’s degree in criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college or university, NC Criminal Justice Instructor certification, minimum of one year experience as a law enforcement officer, and teaching experience, preferable in a post-secondary institution. Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities: Teaching, supervising and evaluating instructors, and coordinating all program activities, including advising, record keeping, and maintaining the College’s BLET accreditation.
