Welcome to the Martin Community College Library, located on the Williamston campus of MCC.
Monday through Friday, from 8:00am through 4:00pm
The MCC Library serves the student body, faculty, staff, and the citizens of the community. Collections in the Library include over 40,000 books, over 2,000 audio books, and a DVD/Video collection. Microfilm copies of the local newspaper, The Enterprise (1901-present), are available, as well as microfilm copies of census and court records for Martin County and adjoining counties.
Special collections include the Francis Manning Collection of local history and Genealogy and the North Carolina collection. Twelve (12) public access computers are available for library visitors. Online sources include WebCat and NC LIVE, which provides online access to electronic resources that include complete articles from over 16,000 newspapers, journals, magazines and encyclopedias, indexing for more than 25,000 periodical titles and access to more than 25,000 online print and audio books.
Computers are available in the library for use by anyone who is at least sixteen (16) years old, including people who have no existing affiliation with MCC. Patrons who use computing equipment must present some form of photographic identification upon request by library staff. MCC students, faculty, and staff may use their MCC ID badges to gain access to the equipment. On the other hand, anyone not associated with MCC may instead use their photographic ID (e.g., driver's license or other photographic identification), and the ID must display the patron's home address.
Wireless Internet access is available to library patrons who bring a laptop, tablet, or other mobile computing device that has standard WiFi capability.
Printing from library computers is available on a fee-per-page basis. Copies of prints cost ten (10) cents per page.
The MCC Library has many databases and collections. Among them are the following:
Anyone, whether they are affiliated with MCC or not, may check out materials from the MCC Library. Borrowers agree to abide by library policies when they use the collections. A valid MCC ID card is the library card for students, faculty, and staff. All other borrowers must have other photo identification, such as a valid driver's license, and they must fill out a Public Borrowers Registration Card. The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service allows students and faculty to borrow materials that are not in the MCC library collection from other libraries. Please allow more than a week for materials to arrive. Ask about this service at the Library Circulation Desk
