MCC Graduates 167 Continuing Education Students

This winter, Martin Community College (MCC) held graduation ceremonies for 167 Continuing Education graduates. The winter graduation ceremonies recognized Fire Academy, Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET), Apprentice Line Technician, Bertie Correctional Institution (BCI), and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

MCC Fire Academy Class 5 held its graduation ceremony on December 12, 2024 in the MCC Auditorium. There were eleven graduating cadets, eight of whom had already secured jobs. These cadets all earned an NC Firefighter Certification, NC Rapid Intervention Crew Certification, and NC Emergency Vehicle Driver Certification. MCC's next Fire Academy starts May 5, 2025.

MCC BLET Class 43 graduated on December 13, 2024. Class 43 had a total of thirteen graduating cadets with 100% passing the Comprehensive State Examination. Twelve of the cadets secured jobs with local law enforcement agencies, with one cadet in the hiring process at the time of graduation. MCC's next BLET class will begin in the spring of 2025.

MCC's Apprentice Line Technician graduation ceremony for Class 9 was held on December 19, 2024 in the MCC Auditorium. Half of the graduates had already secured jobs by the time of graduation.

MCC congratulates the 139 graduates at BCI. Graduates received certificates in Computer Application, HVAC, Carpentry, Career Readiness, HiSET, and Keys to Freedom. MCC is proud to partner with BCI to offer these educational opportunities.

On January 17, 2025, MCC held its EMS graduation ceremony which recognized both EMT and Paramedic Program graduates.

Dr. Tabitha R. Miller, President of Martin Community College, shared her pride in the graduating classes, saying, "I am extremely proud of all of our students and their successes. Special congratulations go out right now to those students who have chosen a profession of service to the community." Dr. Miller also extended best wishes to all the graduates as they take their next steps, expressing appreciation with these words, "Your dedication and compassion for your communities make you the best reason to be able to say that every day is a good day to be a Martin Mustang."
